30th October. A wee wander along to Warriston. Not much happening so I resorted to feeding the crows, magpies and squirrels. It brightens up an otherwise dull grey day.

bluetit
There is a small stream that flows under the tunnel and out to the Water of Leith. The birds like to splash about here. Unfortunately it is quite busy with dog walkers passing by. But the birds quickly return after they leave.

magpie with scabby feet
This blackbird was behaving like a youngster. A bit cautious when hopping about the branches and singing with its beak closed as if to not draw too much attention. Eyed me with curiousity before moving on. There was a female blackbird in the vacinity.

a few robins about
While the squirrels are far less tame than in the botanics, they will show some interest when I feed the crows and magpies and seem to understand there is free food on the go. They are starting to come quite close if I stay still, but will run off if I approach them. The one above with a reduced ear kept returning for peanuts then taking them off to hide around the cemetery.
