butterfly beach and moon

Just a small recovery run on 14th July after the 30miler the day before. What does it say about Aberlady and Gullane, that we returned to run 6 miles round the same place we we running less than 24hrs before? Sometimes I want to go explore elsewhere but in July the amount of birds, bees and butterflies buzzing about means there is always plenty to point the camera at. We took nearly 3 hrs to run 6.6 miles. So, lots of stops and walks. Lots to see. No hurry! How nice!

And all that on the JMW before we even cross the bridge to enchantment.
The tide is high. So are we.

the heat haze plays havoc with Mary
for once a long way behind me (getting distracted by butterflies!)
(at last we have swapped roles? well maybe)

Mary came up with the term Scottish Sunflowers
for these tall dandelion-like wildflowers

despite its tattered looks this one was flying strongly!

That evening the full orange moon came up over Whinny Hill
as seen from our flat window

And the following night there was a partial eclipse. Mary got better photos on both occasions; I think she must be in league with someone or something but I can't figure out what.
