Going for walks is good but broken wrist means I can't even take photos. Our birdfeeding area is 10 ft away, just outside our living room window so right now am watching goldfinches, coaltits, bluetits, great-tits, spadgers, and robins. We get plenty chaffinches and greenfinches and occasionally a gorgeous woodpecker (greater spotted). Today's walk involved 4 circling buzzards, a flock of greylags, a heron, oystercatchers, knots, and a delightful lark which sounded like a full chorus - how does such a tiny bird produce such a chestful of song?! Really liked Mary's photo of the cormorant. Will maybe delve into my photo archives and do something since I can't do the real thing right now - you've motivated me to! Great blog as always - hope you're running soon... HokaHokaHoka.
